Overview
Teen Breathe (by GMC Publications) is a bi‑monthly educational magazine for ages 8–14, covering mindfulness, mental health, wellbeing, creativity, and general knowledge . The Challenge
The goal was to make topics like mental health, wellbeing, and general knowledge both accessible and compelling to teens. The challenge lay in crafting visuals that not only explain concepts clearly but also draw readers into the story and complement the editorial text.
The Solution
Each illustration was designed to interact with the text, integrating with typography and spatial layout to form a cohesive whole. Characters, metaphors, and visual cues were used to embody the article’s theme—whether anxiety, resilience, or self-awareness—creating a visual narrative that invites deeper interaction.
The Result
A series of eye-catching spreads that transform challenging subjects into approachable, relatable content. Teen readers are guided through the articles by visuals that support and enhance their understanding and emotional engagement.
